Pillager Middle School presents

The Husky Hangout

An After School Academic Enrichment Program Available to Students In Grades 5-8


WHO: THE HUSKY HANGOUT is available to any Pillager students in grades 5-8 who wish to take advantage of after school academic support and enrichment activities during the school year.

WHAT: Each two-hour session consists of:

- One hour of Homework Help The Lead Teacher (Middle School Special Education and English Instructor) and other support staff are available to help students complete homework assignments.  If a student does not have assignments to complete they will receive supplemental math, reading, study skills instruction.

- One hour-long Learning Activity Students will participate in a hands-on learning enrichment activity each week. Activity examples include: cooking, service learning project, art project, visiting Riverside Assisted Living Center, science experiments, martial arts class, community education classes, etc.

WHEN: Every Thursday: 3:30- 5:30pm. First session is Thursday, September 22nd.

WHERE: Pillager Middle School, Room 358 (Mrs. Goff & Mrs. Becker’s Room)

WHY: Students can benefit from additional academic support while also developing improved social, study, and communication skills.

HOW: Parents and Teachers who are interested in referring a child to THE HUSKY HANGOUT may fill out and return the attached form.
