September 21, 2017 Day #13


MS Students: Day 1, 5 Choir, 6 Band, 7&8 Band, 7&8 Boys Choir


Congratulations to Tanner Swenson and Jacob Siefkes for being named Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. This means that they tested in the top 3% of the students who took the PSAT nationally!  That's 1.6 million students who were tested!


The 9th grade will have a class meeting today, at the start of 2nd hour.  Report to second hour for attendance, then report to the High School gym.  


Today’s skits will be held in the MS gym during 5th hour. Any "late" additions to Lip sync, must be given to Mr. Mortenson...only 1 class--9th grade had their information into Mr. Bentson in time. Music to Levi Nagel....


Homecoming festivities: Today is-Class Color day. Friday-School Spirit Day.


CC meet at Madden’s Pine Beach West Golf Course. Dismiss 2:00, leave 2:15.


Volleyball vs Bertha-Hewitt. 8/7A and C play at 4:45, JV 6:00 and V 7:30. The volleyball team wants to invite all Pillager Husky fans to come to the game tonight at 7:30. Please wear black clothing so we can "blackout" the stands.


No ICU tomorrow for 5/6 due to pepfest activities.


All 7th and 8th graders need to get their permission form turned in for next Wednesday’s field trip.  Also, make sure you have let your first period teacher know if you want a school lunch for that day.  Your school lunch account will be charged accordingly.

 

Class of 2020: There is a grocery bagging opportunity for your senior class trip. Dates are Dec 22 & 23. There is a signup sheet outside the HS office.

 

9th-12th grade- remember to check your emails DAILY.  A lot of important info is being communicated to you on your email, including announcements.  If you are not getting emails, please see Larae in the office.


7th grade dues should be turned into Mr. Petersen or Madyson Mortenson by this Friday.

Auditions for the Pillager HS 'Chamber Singers' are extended through the week, due to Homecoming festivities. Sign up and info on the Choir Room door - please see Mr. Espe with questions.


The college of Saint Benedict and Saint John's will be on the Pillager campus on Friday, September 22nd at 8:30AM. Students who wish to speak to the college representatives can sign up in the high school office.  


Juniors: Class dues of $15 are due to Lauren Martin or Mrs. Hutchison by Friday, September 22.


Attention Seniors: There is a grocery bagging opportunity on Nov 18th (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) to raise money for your senior trip. Please see Ms. Prax to sign up for a time. First come, first serve!! There are also other opportunities to possibly grocery bag in November and December. You must speak directly to Ms. Prax to sign up for those.


Buy your buttons today for $5! Admission at the doors will be $6. The middle school (5-8) dance will be held from 7:00pm- 8:30pm. The high school (9-12) dance will be held from 9:00pm- 11:30pm. ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY. If you don’t have a button, it will be $6 at the door. You must sign in and out! Once you sign out you can not sign back in. If you wish to bring an outside guest they must be approved through the office prior to the dance. Dance is Saturday, September 23rd.


MS students: if you are bringing a guest to the Homecoming dance, make sure you fill out a form and turn it in by 3pm Friday to the MS office.


Attention all students: In addition to the contests between grades during this week's homecoming festivities, there will also be a COIN DRIVE to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma! You will see bins out in the morning and during lunch, or in the MS and HS offices the rest of the day, that have each your grade on them. The rules are as follows: coins count as positive currency (so I want to put all coins in my class box) but dollars count as negative currency (so I want to put dollars in some other class box so it counts against them). The money will be counted Friday and the winning class with the highest total will win a prize. Any questions see Ms. Prax or Mr. Bentson.


Pillager now has a DANCE TEAM!  There will be an informational meeting in the HS commons on Tuesday, September 26th @ 2:45 for girls in grades 7-12 who may be interested.


Bemidji State University will be on the Pillager campus on Monday, October 23rd at 10:45.  Students interested in visiting with a BSU rep can sign up in the high school office.


NDSU will be on the Pillager campus on Tuesday, November 14th.  For those students wishing to visit with the NDSU representative, you can sign up in the high school office.  

Yearbooks are now on sale. If purchased by September 30, they are $35.


Seniors: October 13 is the deadline for senior photos.


Any boys basketball players grades 3-12 who completed their 10,000 shots over this summer, need to turn in their sheets by Sept 29 to Mr. Bentson.


MS teachers please make students aware of the ICU list.


Lunch: Cheesy Beef Nachos or a Corn Dog, Pinto Beans, Salsa
