Ridgewater College Ag Career Expo Day
This Friday, September 30 the Agriculture Department of Ridgewater College is hosting their annual Ag Career Expo Day. This program will help those students who are seriously considering a career in agriculture explore the opportunities availabe in 2-year and 4-year agriculture programs. Students will:
1. Hear current students and graduate of the agriculture programs describe their careers and opportunities for employement.
2. Receive a tour of the program, and experience some of the areas of agriculture technology Ridgewater College students work with.
3. Visit with career counselors and a financial aid counselor, if desired.
Registration begins at 8:30AM. The program begins at 9:15AM and wraps up by 12:30PM. Lunch is provided.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College-Moorhead
On Tuesday, November 8 from 9:00AM-12:00PM students will have the opportunity to see the Automotive Service Technology and Diesel Equipment Technology fields. Students will also get a chance to tour the brand new Automotive and Diesel lab areas and classrooms. There will be presentations and demonstrations from the faculty and current students in the respective programs. Lunch will be provided free to all attendees. University of Minnesota Freshman Admission Updates
Thursday, December 1. Priority consideration for admission, admission to the University Honors Program, and most University scholarships is given to students whose applications are complete by December 1. The U of M does not participate in either the early action or early decision programs.
Thursday, December 15. Full consideration for admission, University Honors Program admission is on a space-available basis and scholarship consideration is on a funds-available basis.
Financial Aid Timeline:
Wednesday, March 1, 2017. FAFSA priority deadline remains the same. The Department of Education has requested that institutions not move the priority financial aid deadlines earlier as a result of PPY (Prior-prior year). However, the U strongly encourages students to apply for financial aid as soon after October 1, 2016 as possible. This will help to ensure students and families have submitted the information necessary to receive their financial aid award notice as soon as it is available. The University of Minnesota will begin sending financial aid award notices to admitted students by early February.
Ridgewater College Ag Career Fair and Technology Showcase
On Friday, December 2 from 8:30-12:00PM, Ridgewater college would like to invite juniors and seniors to check out their Ag program. They will be hosting over 40 agriculture companies in a career fair to help students learn about career opportunities in the industry. Students will:
- Discover employment opportunities in agriculture
- Attend industry presentations about new products and technologies
- Network with industry representatives from major agriculture companies
- Explore the trade show exhibits
- Review the agriculture training programs available at Ridgewater College
- Tour the agriculture classrooms and laboratories
Each student will need to register. The website will ask students to select ag career aread they would like to "focus" on (agronomy, livestock/dairy). Below is the link to register:
Central Lakes College-Staples Campus
On Friday, January 27th the sophomores will be taking a class trip to CLC-Staples Campus to learn about different career opportunities. Buses will depart at 8:30AM and will arrive back in Pillager around 1:00PM. All sophomores are required to attend.
