Testing and Curriculum
A variety of classroom and school-wide assessments are given throughout the school year to measure academic progress. While these assessments provide useful information to educate students, the assessments do not tell us everything about a student and the potential they possess. The students of the Pillager School District are certainly more than a "test score" and will be treated as such.
The assessments that students take are indicated below:
STAR test (Measures of Academic Progress): Grades 2-8
ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery): Grade 10, 11, or 12 (optional)
ACT + Writing: Grade 11
MCA Reading: Grade 3-8, 10
MCA Mathematics: Grade 3-8, 11
MCA Science: Grade 5, 8, HS after completion of a Life Science course

Learning Resources Company - requires no email, resources listed by topic (i.e.- flashcards, etc)
NYC Dept of Education - set up for parents and students when Distance Learning was enacted
National Geographic - collections of learning activities to implement at home
Khan Academy- free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
Brain Pop- Animated, educational site for kids
FunBrain - FunBrain is the #1 site for online educational games for kids of all ages. (math, grammar, science, spelling, history)
Quizlet -interactive study materials and games; parent sets up an email and downloads the app
ABCya - Educational games for grades PreK through 6 that will keep kids engaged and having fun. Topics include math, reading, typing, just-for-fun logic games…
EPIC - Get unlimited access to 40000 of the best books, audiobooks, videos, & more for kids 12 and under.
Xtra Math - XtraMath is a free program that helps students master addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.
